Bio:

Professor Xilin LU, received his Ph. D. in December 1984, and studied at the University of Alberta from 1990 to 1991 as a visiting scholar, then worked at the University of Hong Kong from 1991 to 1992 as a research associate. Now he works at College of Civil Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai, China. He currently has the following academic and professional positions: Chief Editor of international journal “The structural Design of Tall and Special Buildings”, Vice President of International Association for Experimental Structural Engineering, Member and fellow of International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering, Vice President of Earthquake Resistance and Disaster Reduction Committee, China Architectural Society; Editorial Board Members of several international Journals: Smart Materials and Systems, Earthquake Engineering, Journal of Asia architecture and Building Engineering, Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering. His research interests focus on Structural Engineering and Earthquake Engineering, especially on seismic design theory of tall buildings, vibration control of various building structures. He has published more than 120 English papers in international journals and conference proceedings including keynote lectures and invited presentations.
