Prof. Robert Tremblay is the chair of seismic engineering research at the Polytechnical University of Montreal, Canada. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from laval university in 1978 and 1988, and his doctorate from the university of British Columbia in Vancouver in 1994. He worked in industry for nearly ten years before completing his PhD. Member of Canadian national standing committee on seismic design of building codes, member of CSA-S16 technical committee on structural steel structures, member of AISC sub-committee on structural seismic design of Bridges, member of AISC working committee on structural seismic design of steel structures and member of AISC task force on nonstructural and industrial structures. The main research direction is the seismic design and response of steel structure.
